TRC Kids Join the Elk Grove Parade

The kids of the Rock church will be participating in the Elk Grove Western Festival Parade on May 1st, 2010.

Requirements:
All kids of The Rock Church from 12 years old and younger are invited to join us. All Children under 7 years old are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents will need to sign a consent form upon arrival for children not accompanied by an adult.

Time:
We will meet at 8:30 and the float is scheduled to leave by 9:00.

Where to Meet:
You will go to Rancho Drive off of Waterman Rd. (between Elk Grove Blvd. and the Waterman cemetery). There you will see a person at the parade booth. Let them know that you are looking for float #92. They will inform you where to go.

What to wear:
The theme for this year's parade is "Oh, to be ten again". We want our kids to dress very "kidish" preferably old-style as they would in WW2 generation to 50's (could be princess dress-up, tom sawyer-style, cowboy/cowgirl, Indians, or similar type costume).

End of Parade:
The parade ends at Elk Grove High School. Everyone will need to be picked up there. We will arrive there between 11:00-12:00. You can judge the time by were we are in the lineup of the parade.

Important Note:
Make sure to wear sunscreen and bring bottled water. Most of the children will be walking alongside the float. The parade is approximately a 3-mile walk.

What an AWESOME job you all did a few Sundays ago during our moving drama! I was thrilled to hear the many comments that came from children who had never heard this wonderful story before. Awesome acting and great last minute flexibility on everyone's part!!

Also Awesome job Tuesday night for God's Got an Army!! You ALL rocked!!!

Many have been asking when our next Xtreme Team practice will be....Below is the schedule for the next 3 months. We are wrapping up the Spring 2010 Xtreme Team Membership allowing everyone the opportunity for Summer vacations!!! Woo Hoo!! Summer is almost here, but before that we have some exciting events.

Sunday, April 18th, we will be having a pre Xtreme Team meeting with all the Xtreme Team Student Staff. This meeting will be held at: TBA =)

Sunday, April 25th, is our Xtreme Team practice. Lunch in Zion and then some mystery work outside =) So bring your $4 and some clothes to get dirty in (we won't be getting too dirty)! Practice begins right after service and ends at 2:30pm.

Friday, April 30th, we will be meeting at the church at 5:30pm to put the last finishing touches on our Western Festival Parade Float!!!!!!

Saturday, May 1st, Western Festival Parade!!!!! Times: TBA, Location: Same as last year =) (I'll get you exact address)

Sunday, May 2nd, Our Last Super Kids Church for Spring 2010!!! Come ready to have fun at 9am!!

Saturday, June 5th, Xtreme Team Adventure Day!!!! Location and Time: TBA ( All I can say is....ITS GONNA BE A Wet BLAST!!!!!

Sunday, June 6th, Come one come all, Xtreme Team Awards Day! Invite your parents for a time of fun and awards! What an awesome year!!

One Way Street Festival & Competition

Today was our annual One Way Street Festival & Competition excursion. After a yummy breakfast of donuts and milk, we loaded up a total of 24 excited team members in vans and headed to Hillsdale Dr.
Awaiting our arrival was a multiple of exhibits and workshops. At 11am we were one of 7 teams that had come to compete in the Creative Ministries Competition.
After 4 hours of nervous talk and anxious minds we were announced as the winners of the GOLD metal and the People's Choice award, which includes a $50.00 gift certificate for any of their products.

Thank you to all who attended and represented our team and our church! You all are the greatest kids ever and we're excited to see what the future has in store!!! Lots of fun and many memories!!

Elk Grove Western Festival Parade

We will have a float–Rain or Shine!

If you have children from ages 4-11 they are invited to be a part of the float. They will need to be accompanied by a guardian and a waiver must be signed on location by the guardian.

Attire:
The theme of our float is the Gold Rush. Both the child and the adult will need to dress 1849 Gold Rush attire. No tennis shoes.

Time:
Everyone participating will meet at 8:30 AM on location.

Location:
Our starting point is on Rancho Drive off of Waterman Rd. and our float position number is 103. (see map below.)

The float will end at the Elk Grove High School Parking Lot. You will need to arrange a ride for pickup at that location.

One Way Street Competition

WOW !!! Our team did an INCREDIBLE JOB... not only winning the GOLD but the PEOPLE'S CHOICE Award also for "To Ever Live Without Me". (Video and Pictures to come)

We were also asked to minister on TUESDAY Night in front of the ROCK CHURCH.

This means that we will practice on the platform at 630 pm sharp. We need 100% participation and if you can't make it to Tuesday night, please contact me at 709-1073 and let me know for sure.

We are SOOOOOOO proud of the team, including the alternates, WE WON for the Glory of GOD...

Oh yeah... ALL ALTERNATES for the skit... get ready for NO LIMITS, because YOU will be no longer the Alternates, but the participants. Please get with me for further instructions.

Again.... WAY TO GO TEAM... we will see you Tuesday Night, FEB 24th, at 630 pm.
